Invisalign

Invisalign straightens teeth using a custom-made series of aligners created specifically for you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic that fit over your teeth. They gradually and gently shift your teeth into place. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten — you simply change to a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks until your treatment is complete. Invisalign is designed to fit into your daily routine while supporting a healthier, more confident smile.

Tooth Coloured Fillings, Crowns & Bridges

Fillings are used to repair decayed teeth, minimal fractures, and other damaged tooth surfaces. Dental filling materials, such as composite bonding, can also be used to even out the surface of a tooth to support normal biting and chewing. In some cases, patients with enamel loss that causes sensitivity may experience reduced sensitivity after treatment with a dental filling.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is the process of removing infected, injured or dead pulp from your tooth. The space inside the hard layers of each tooth is called the root canal system. This system is filled with soft dental pulp made up of nerves and blood vessels that help your tooth grow and develop. When bacteria (germs) enter your tooth through deep cavities, cracks or flawed fillings, your tooth can become abscessed.

Extractions

An extraction is the removal of a tooth, usually due to disease, trauma, or crowding. If you need an extraction, Dr. Wid will first numb the area to help manage discomfort. After the procedure, you will be advised on the post-extraction care to follow. Some bleeding is normal, and over time the bone where the tooth root was will begin to heal through the formation of a blood clot.

Teeth Whitening

Wondering about the pros and cons of teeth whitening? For most patients, the natural colour of their teeth is a range of light grey-yellow shades. It is natural for your teeth to begin to darken with age. The rate of this can be increased due to surface stains from tobacco products as well as certain foods or drinks.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer is a disease resulting from abnormal cell growth in the mouth, lips, tongue, or throat. In 2003, an estimated 3,100 new cases of oral cancer were identified in Canada, and about 1,090 deaths occurred as a result of the disease. People over the age of 45 are most at risk. Oral cancer may be more effectively treated when detected early. Regular dental visits can include screening for early signs of the disease, and our team can provide information to help you understand your risks.

Veneers

If you are considering changing the appearance of otherwise healthy teeth, veneers may be an option. Veneers are very thin shells that are attached to the front surface of teeth and are commonly made of porcelain or composite resin. Porcelain veneers are typically more durable and resistant to staining compared to composite resin veneers. Porcelain veneers usually require at least two dental visits to apply, while composite resin veneers can often be completed in one visit.

Emergency & Same Day Appointments

For emergency dental care, we aim to accommodate patients as quickly as possible during business hours. New patients are always welcome. The purpose of your visit will be to help manage discomfort, diagnose the problem, and advise you on options for care. A dental emergency may require an urgent visit if you experience:

Digital X-Rays

We use digital X-rays, which require reduced radiation compared to traditional methods—approximately half that of conventional X-ray techniques. The images are captured using a flat electronic sensor and transmitted directly to a computer for immediate review by your dental care professional.

Laughing Gas Sedation

Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax during certain procedures. It is not intended to put you to sleep. You will be able to hear and respond to any requests or directions Dr. Wid may have. Dr, Wid will ask you to breathe normally through your nose, and within a few short minutes, you should start to feel the effects of the nitrous oxide. Ultimately, you should feel calm and comfortable. The effects of nitrous oxide wear off soon after the mask is removed.

I recently switched to Tooth Harmony with Dr. Wid as my dentist and couldn’t be happier with my decision. The space is extremely modern and you feel welcome the moment you step in. All staff are friendly and accommodating. They are extremely thorough with their explanations and use modern equipment (photos, 3D video) to support the explanation. I would highly recommend Tooth Harmony!
